Total Abortions since 1973

That's right! Since the lie called Roe v. Wade our Country has allowed almost 49 Million human beings to be murdered in the most vulnerable state.

Think about this for a moment: Someone walks in to your child's bedroom tonight while she is sleeping in her crib. The intruder forces your baby to breath in a solution made up mostly of concentrated salt and she is poisoned. By the way, the solution also caused painful burning and deterioration of your baby's skin.

You would be outraged right? Then where is the outrage over the 2,040,779 children who have been murdered over the past 34 years by similar means. (Salt Poisoning is one of the most popular abortion techniques during the 2nd trimester).

What are you talking about Mike? Fair question.

Answer: In 2001, 4.2% of abortions in the United States were performed between weeks 16 and 20 of gestation according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. 4.2% seems like a low enough number to use as a 34 year average. Do the math and you have over 2 million victims of legalized torture. For those of you how say I'm using fuzzy math, are 35,846 victims more palatable for you? (853,485 legal abortions reported to the CDC in 2001).

I hear some of you saying, "Mike, the fetus does not suffer." I say, YEAH RIGHT!

Here are the facts:

Week 16:
-Fat begins to form underneath skin
-Tiny thumps of the baby's heartbeat can be heard with an external monitor
-Heart is pumping as much as 6 gallons of blood a day
-Sucking, swallowing and blinking are now evident
-Baby has learned to breathe

Week 17:
-Baby has a much more normal "human" appearance
-Pads are forming on his tiny fingertips and toes
-Skeleton is transforming from cartilage to bone

Week 18:
-Vocal chords are formed
-Baby's heart, including ventricles and chambers, should be visible during an ultrasound

Week 19:
-Baby has the same awake and sleep patterns of a newborn
-Scalp hair becomes apparent this week
-The genitals are distinct and recognizable
-Baby is swallowing amniotic fluid and his or her kidneys are making urine

Week 20:
-Baby's heart grows stronger
-Legs are reaching their relative size
-Nerve cells for taste, smell, hearing, seeing, and touch are now developing
-Baby may startle

Oh, I forgot to mention something. When a child is murdered by "Salt Poisoning," after about an hour, the child dies. The mother goes into labor about 33 to 35 hours after instillation and delivers a dead, burned, and shriveled baby. About 97% of mothers deliver their dead babies within 72 hours.

If you are still reading this post, I'll let you know why I made this the first topic of "Get Muddy in '08." It is really simple and I have my late Grandmother to thank for this wisdom. She once told me, "If you cannot trust a person to protect human life when it is most defenseless, you cannot trust them to lead this country." I say "Amen!"

So here's where your 2008 Presidential Canidates stand on abortion (legalized murder) according to The Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life (www.pewforum.org):

Joe Biden Biden "strongly support[s] Roe v. Wade." He said he is "prepared to accept" the Catholic Church's teaching that life begins at conception but said Roe v. Wade "is as close to we're going to be able to get as a society" to incorporating diverging religious views on the issue. Although he voted in favor of the bill to ban late-term abortions, Biden said the Supreme Court's April 2007 decision to uphold the ban was "intellectually dishonest," saying its language undermined Roe v. Wade.

Sam Brownback Brownback has referred to abortion as "a holocaust" and often compares it to slavery. He says Roe v. Wade should be overturned and has sponsored or cosponsored several anti-abortion Senate bills, including the Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act, the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act and the Unborn Victims of Violence Act.

Hillary Clinton Clinton says abortion rights are protected by the Constitution but that there is "an opportunity for people of good faith to find common ground in this debate." She says the government should actively try to minimize the number of abortions through better sex education and improved access to birth control. Clinton has praised religious groups for promoting abstinence. She opposed the Supreme Court's March 2007 decision to uphold a ban on late-term abortions, calling the decision an "erosion of our constitutional rights."

Christopher Dodd Dodd has said abortion "ought to be rare, safe and legal" and that "we ought to be working together on how we reduce the incidence of abortion" rather than continuing to fight about Roe v. Wade. Dodd has criticized the Vatican's condemnation of Catholic politicians who support abortion rights.

John Edwards A supporter of abortion rights, Edwards also favors funding for "family planning." Edwards' presidential candidacy has won the support of a prominent abortion rights advocate, Kate Michelman, who is helping the campaign reach out to women. In the April 2007 Democratic debate, Edwards said, "I believe in a woman's right to choose, but I think this is an extraordinarily difficult issue for America."

Rudolph Giuliani Giuliani says he "hates" abortion, but adds, "I believe in a woman's right to choose." In a May 2007 debate, he said it would be "OK" if Roe v. Wade were overturned and "OK" if not, but later clarified his stance, calling a woman's right to choose one of his "core beliefs." As mayor of New York City, Giuliani approved government funding for abortion and opposed a ban on partial-birth abortion, saying he wanted to "preserve the option for women." He also donated money to Planned Parenthood, a group that advocates for abortion rights. Prior to his first campaign for mayor in 1989, however, Giuliani opposed abortion rights.

Mike Huckabee Huckabee is anti-abortion but says that some in the "pro-life community" put "undue focus on the gestation period" instead of caring for children throughout their lives. Huckabee has said that Roe v. Wade should be overturned but that its reversal would not eliminate abortion laws. "Some states would have very liberal abortion laws, other states would have very strict abortion laws," he said.

John McCain McCain supports overturning Roe v. Wade and banning abortion except in cases of rape, incest or threat to the life of the mother. He has an anti-abortion voting record, and has promised, if elected, to appoint justices who "strictly interpret the Constitution of the United States and do not legislate from the bench."

Barack Obama Obama supports abortion rights. In the Illinois State Senate, he voted against a bill to ban late-term abortions. Obama said that he did not support the ban because it did not contain a clause to protect the life of the mother. During the April 2007 Democratic debate, Obama said that he trusts women to make their own decisions about whether or not to have an abortion "in conjunction with their doctors and their families and their clergy."

Bill Richardson Richardson supports abortion rights. In 2002, his spokesman said that Richardson is personally opposed to abortion but believes the decision to have an abortion is one that should be left up to individual women rather than the state.

W. Mitt Romney Romney describes himself as "firmly pro-life." He says he believes that abortion should be banned except in cases of rape, incest or to save the life of the mother. Romney acknowledges that earlier in his career, he was "effectively pro-choice," and as governor of Massachusetts, he kept a campaign pledge to protect "a woman's right to choose" despite his personal opposition to abortion.

Fred Thompson Thompson told FOX News Sunday in March 2007 that he is "pro-life," and that he believes Roe v. Wade was based on "bad law and bad medical science" that could be remedied through the appointment of "good judges." While serving in the Senate he voted for the Partial-Birth Abortion Act of 2000. On a 1996 Christian Coalition survey, he handwrote, "I do not believe abortion should be criminalized. This battle will be won in the hearts and souls of the American people." In a 1994 political questionnaire Thompson indicated that he agreed with the statement "abortions should be legal in all circumstances as long as the procedure is completed within the first trimester of the pregnancy."

I hope this has been somewhat revealing. I pray I will get better with each upcoming post. I look forward to your comments and encourage you to GET MUDDY IN '08!

The Muddy Manifesto

"Get Muddy in '08" is my little way of reminding those who may visit my page on myspace that God calls us to get dirty for Him. We are called to be doers, to suffer in the fields of His harvest, to get right in the thick of it all. Yes, many of the post I'll make will be political in nature…but they will not be about John Edwards' hair or Hillary's bad makeup. I hope to reflect on real issues, like how some presidential candidates think it's OK to murder millions of defenseless children and take Christ out of Christmas. I want to talk about why our choice for president should hold marriage in high regard and should value the Judeo-Christian Heritage of our Republic! (Yeah, that one hurts based on some previous post…if you read them and know anything about the current republican candidates you will figure it out).

So, I invite your comments (whether you agree or disagree with me) and I pray at least one person will get something out of what I write…even if that person is only me.

***Did any of that make sense?***
